Mkomazi National Park is located in northern Tanzania, between Moshi and Tanga. The park is placed against the breathtaking backdrop of the Pare and Usambara mountains, and on clear days, Mount Kilimanjaro can be viewed from its bounds.
Mkomazi's vegetation represents the southern extremity of the Sahel zone, and it resembles a dry, desert-like terrain. The climate supports acacia-commiphora forests, which convert to dry land forest as you approach the western mountains.
